Job Purpose
As a B1 Technician in Base Maintenance at Air Arabia, your primary role is to support Engineers in performing maintenance tasks on Air Arabia and Third-party aircraft. This includes inspections, repairs, component replacements, and ensuring all work is done to the required standards and in compliance with Air Arabia's policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Result Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
- Review assigned task cards with the Engineer-in-Charge to fully understand the work, priorities, documentation requirements, and safety precautions before commencing work.
- Prepare and execute scheduled aircraft maintenance according to assigned task cards, ensuring that all required documentation, parts, tools, and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) are acquired and used as per issued instructions.
- Conduct aircraft tests and inspections with a keen eye for identifying and documenting defects or damage in accordance with approved maintenance procedures.
- Perform repairs, component replacements, and tests in strict adherence to the instructions provided by assigned task cards, approved data, and procedures, as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge.
- Ensure that appropriate tools and equipment are obtained from stores to perform tasks, returning them in good condition after completing the work.
- Regularly update the Engineer-in-Charge on the status of assigned tasks and promptly notify them of any issues related to aircraft condition or task execution.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in all tasks performed.
Safety
- Prioritize safety by ensuring that all mandatory precautions are taken before starting work and during task execution.
- Take proactive measures to safeguard yourself and others in the maintenance area, using the necessary Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and protective equipment.
- Pay close attention to human factors in maintenance, following work interruption procedures and ensuring proper access and lighting for maintenance and inspections.
- Reputation and Teamwork
- Provide helpful information and support to your team and other department personnel involved in managing scheduled maintenance checks (internal customer service).
- Represent Air Arabia with professionalism, portraying a positive and competent image of technical expertise when interacting with other companies' personnel and ABY customers.
Cost Awareness
Maintain awareness of aircraft maintenance costs, including time and materials. Minimize unnecessary waste of consumable materials and part repair costs by avoiding unnecessary damage and repeat work during maintenance.
Qualifications (Academic, Training, Languages)
- Qualified and experienced Civil Aircraft Maintenance Technician.
- Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English for technical communications.
- Familiarity with computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to obtain a UAE Driver's License.
Work Experience
External Applicants
- At least 2 years of experience performing maintenance on large commercial aircraft, preferably Airbus types.
- At least 2 years of experience in a Base Maintenance environment.
- Demonstrated solid foundational understanding of Airframe and Engine Maintenance theory and practice.
