Job Purpose
As an Aircraft Technician, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and airworthiness of Emirates and third-party aircraft. Your responsibilities include:
1. Routine Maintenance: Conducting routine aircraft, engine, and component servicing, maintenance, and approved structural repairs in compliance with manufacturers' procedures, while strictly adhering to safety protocols.
2. Documentation: Utilizing Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalogs (IPC), Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM), and other approved documents to complete component replacements and other maintenance activities as directed by your supervisor.
3. Collaboration: Assisting Licensed Aircraft Engineers in walk-around checks, troubleshooting, defect rectifications, and modifications. You'll work as a team to ensure the aircraft's safety and functionality.
4. Safety: Promoting a safety culture to minimize accidents and highlighting potential issues. Maintaining clean and safe work environments, including the ramp, vehicles, and toolboxes. Complying with airport safety regulations.
5. Development: Collaborating with your supervisor to create development plans, address strengths and weaknesses, and establish timeframes for improvement.
6. Efficiency: Maximizing ground time and minimizing operational delays by promptly attending to all allocated tasks and effectively communicating any defects to the Licensed Aircraft Engineer.
Specific Job Accountabilities for Emirates Flight Training Academy (EFTA)
In this role, you will contribute to the safety and airworthiness of EFTA's fleet of 27 aircraft. This includes maintaining and repairing the academy's aircraft, diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues, replacing defective parts, and conducting regular inspections to prevent problems.
Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you should have:
Education: National or Higher National Diploma in Mechanical, Electronic, Avionics, or Aeronautical Engineering, or equivalent apprenticeship training with a reputable airline or approved maintenance organization.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, structures, or component maintenance in the relevant workshop.
Safety Sensitive Role
This position involves several safety-sensitive aspects, including working at heights, exposure to hazardous energy systems, heavy lifting, working with motorized mobile equipment, confined spaces, contact with contaminants, dangerous goods, noisy environments, working in heat, pressurized substances, sharp objects, and contact with moving/falling objects.
