Repair wings, brakes, electrical systems and other aircraft components. Replace defective parts, using hand tools or power tools. Examine replacement aircraft parts or defects. Read maintenance manuals to identify repair procedures.
Job Profile for Aircraft Technician:
The Aircraft Technician is responsible for carrying out maintenance tasks on Emirates and third-party aircraft and components in accordance with laid down procedures and regulations. The Aircraft Technician will work as part of a team under the direction and guidance of the assigned licensed aircraft engineer within the trade disciplines for which they have been trained.
Required Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
Qualifications:
- National/Higher national diploma or apprenticeship in mechanical, electronic, avionics or aeronautical engineering or equivalent training with a reputable airline or an approved maintenance organisation
- Engineering other 5+ years post basic training in an aircraft maintenance environment or 5+ year's experience in structure or component maintenance for the applicable workshop
Knowledge & Skills:

What are the Job Responsibilities For The Aircraft Technician?
- To carry out routine aircraft/engine/component servicing/maintenance and approved structural repairs compliant to manufacturers procedures whilst observing all safety procedures for fluid replenishment, aircraft refuelling, aircraft systems charging/servicing as required
- To complete any component replacement and other maintenance activities as directed by immediate supervisor
- This will include the ability to obtain and understand Aircraft maintenance manual, Illustrated parts catalogue, component maintenance manual or other approved documentation required to carry out this task
- Assist licensed aircraft engineers in walk around checks on arrival and prior to departure as directed by the assigned engineer, in trouble shooting, defect rectification and carrying out modifications while also performing instructions contained in job card
- Should be fully conversant with airport safety regulations including holding and maintaining an airport driving permit. Should be fully conversant with airport manoeuvring area requirements and be able to comply
- Work closely with supervisor, through the PM review system to agree on development plans including training, strength and weaknesses and time frames for completion. Grooming standards maintained and attendance to be maintained
- Ensure prompt attendance to all allocated tasks with the intent to maximize the ground time and avoid operational delays.
